Gambling problem? Call 1-800-GAMBLER
Click here to go to the National Council on Problem Gambling
At the Key West Resort & Casino, we know that casino gambling and all the images of wealth, affluence and sophistication that surround the activity are harmless entertainment to most people, but can become an addiction for others, through no fault of their own. We always encourage those who choose to visit our site and use our products to do so legally, safely and responsibly.

We offer our support and assistance to those who have developed an addiction to gambling.

If you believe you are:
  • spending too much time or money gambling in any form;
  • behind in your bills because of your spending on gambling;
  • developing problems in other areas of your life because of  gambling;
  • neglecting your job, family, friends or health in order to spend more time gambling;
  • find that you don't enjoy gambling or feel stressed while gambling, but do so anyway;
  • skipping meals, losing sleep, excusing yourself from important events, missing appointments, or missing time at work due to gambling;

we urge you to seek help by contacting the National Council on Problem Gambling 24-hour national confidential hotline at 1-800-522-4700, or call 1-800-GAMBLER to speak to a counselor in your area.

Learn responsible gaming before you start

If you choose to gamble, we offer the following list of suggested best practices to keep the activity safe, legal and enjoyable.

1. If you have issues with other compulsive behaviors in your life, we strongly recommend that you do not engage in any gambling of any kind.

2. No one under the legal gambling age in your state or country should engage in wagering for anything of value, ever.

3. If you choose to gamble, set a certain amount you can afford to lose as if you were spending it, rather than wagering it. Make it part of your "entertainment expense."

4. Never wager amounts beyond your means and never "borrow" from money budgeted for your monthly living expenses to gamble.

5. Only play in your true "spare" time, Set time limits and play within those limits. Never gamble instead of working, or while on breaks from work. This is distracting and causes stress while playing and at work.

6. Always play safely and legally, in a licensed casino, card room or charity event. Travel safely to and from the event in the company of others you trust. Don't drink while playing or traveling. If you play at home, only do so legally with trusted family members and friends, and don't invite anyone you don't know very, very well to your home to play.

7. If you gamble, it should be an activity you enjoy, and not your only activity. Remember to get enough sleep, eat right, exercise and care for your health before scheduling a trip to the casino, card room or online gaming site.

8. Know your limits and know when to stop. When you choose to gamble, set a time limit and a loss limit. Stick to both. Fuel up before arriving at the casino to insure you have a safe way home. Never use an ATM in a casino or card room to get money for the slots or tables.
